Carnival
In addition to the traditional carnival custom Mesopust, there is an unmissable Carnival programme in Novi Vinodolski that begins on the first Saturday after the Feast of the Three Kings (January 6). Carnival parties are organised in the House of Culture starting at 20:00, and last from five to nine Saturdays, until Ash Wednesday, and the final party is held on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. In addition to Mesopustari from Novi Vinodolski, Mesopustari and Maškaroni from the surrounding settlements, Povile, Klenovica, Ledenice and Donji Zagon also organise their events. Be imaginative and win the prize for the best mask, try your luck in a rich raffle and dance to a fun music programme. Admission is free.
During the event Mlada mesopustova (The Bride of Mesopust), Tea Party is organised for the youngest residents and visitors in the House of Culture, and on next Sunday the event Dječja Reduta. Don’t let your little ones miss the procession led by the Mali mesopustari, which starts from the Ivan Mažuranić Elementary School all the way to the House of Culture, where they will be greeted by cheerful animators, music and free donuts and juices.
Mesopust
Mesopust is the most esteemed folk custom in Novi Vinodolski, in which a large number of residents take part. According to personal preferences they participate in carnivals, as singers and participants in the kolo dance, as participants in the carnival trial for Mesopust or just as curious observers. The practices of the customs are carried out by the participants in a strictly established traditional form and they last three weeks, twenty-one days, from the First Thursday to Maundy Wednesday / Ash Wednesday, with nine days of events in that period.

Raspjevani balkoni (Singing balconies)
In Novi Vinodolski, on May 1st on the day of the patron saint of Novi Vinodolski, St. Phillip and James, programme Raspjevani balkoni is held . In addition to flowers fair and home-made products, an indispensable part of this Sunday programme is the preparation of asparagus frittata and 1000 eggs. The programme is accompanied by songs and music by prominent Kvarner performers.

FIT4NOVI
A rich three-day sports and recreational programme organised by the town of Novi Vinodolski and sports and recreational associations is held every year at the end of May, with the emergence of first warmer days. Presentation trainings are open to public and in order to participate in tournaments you need to register. The event is designed to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle, especially among the youngest generations.

Summer Carnival
The first weekend in July is reserved for the Summer International Carnival in Novi Vinodolski, which is attended by over 50 masked groups with over 3000 masks. The summer carnival offers a lot of fun and joy, so be a part of the carnival events that take place in the centre of Novi Vinodolski.

Okolotorno
A walk through the illuminated and arranged streets of the Old Town, during which visitors visit all important sights with the help of a map and pass several points where local associations, artists, craftsmen, entrepreneurs and farmers present and sell indigenous products and souvenirs. Visitors are entertained by musicians, masked volunteers, embodying the characters of Frankopan, Ban Ivan Mažuranić, Ivana Brlić Mažuranić, and girls in traditional costumes. For youngest guests streets of the old town hide many surprises, such as face painting, juggling, archery. Okolotorno is held every other Wednesday during July and August.

Sails of Vinodol
This one-day programme that takes place in mid-August in the port of Novi Vinodolski was launched in cooperation with the YC Burin Sailing Club. Its aim is promoting sailing and destinations as sports and recreation, as well as creating additional facilities for tourists. Tourists can enjoy an active vacation and, for the first time with the help of experienced sailors, feel the magic of sailing. A seaside lunch is prepared for all participants to promote local specialties.

Erato četvrtkom (Erato on Thursdays)
The Novi Vinodolski Public Reading Room and Library is known in its area for organising various literary events, promoting books and reading, especially during summer months when literary evenings and promotions (Erato četvrtkom) are traditionally held every Thursday. On average, seven events take place in two months. These are very well-attended events that are organised in the atrium of Srića’s house and reading room (exhibitions). The guests are mostly eminent names on the Croatian literary and cultural scene.

Primorski trokut (Primorje Triangle)
From the Roman fortress Lopar, by boat to San Marino, and almost to the pinnacle of tourism in Novi, Hotel Lišanj, this is the route of the Primorje Triangle. It is an event that offers visitors, with the smell of the sea, pine trees and music, the experience of a real seaside feel on several locations. You will be able to taste local gastronomic specialties, buy home-made products for souvenirs, and enjoy a summer evening in Ivan Mažuranić Park and on the island of Saint Marin.

Fešta od kilometra (Festivity of kilometers)
On Obala Petra Krešimira IV. in Novi Vinodolski, the event called the Fešta od kilometra has been held in August since 2015. Along the entire 1200 m length of the coast, visitors can enjoy music, wine, prosciutto and other gourmet experiences typical of the coastal region.
The programme starts at 18:00 and considering the fact that the location of the festival is appreciated among the people from Bribir, who like to swim there, a special corner on the coast is dedicated to them. In the Bribir corner, visitors can enjoy the sounds of the Bibir tamburitza players, souvenirs and gastronomic offer from Bribir.

Ružica Vinodola (Rose of Vinodol)
Every year at the end of August, an interesting event called Ružica Vinodola is held in Novi Vinodolski. The tradition of choosing Ružica Vinodola is several centuries old, from the reign of the Frankopan family. The story is that at the end of the grape harvest, the most beautiful and diligent among the pickers was chosen. She would be crowned with vine, a symbol that has always been of special importance in this area and be at the front of the procession to the town.
Ružica Vinodola is a tourist event that provides guests with entertainment, introduces them to musical traditions, ecological products and allows them to master some of the secrets of making handicrafts, traditional items or cooking. Of course, a rich selection of traditional dishes and excellent wines is also added to the offer, giving the whole event Ružica Vinodola special attraction.

International Festival of Classical Music
The traditional International Festival of Classical Music is held in the summer in the parish church of St. Philip and James. It is a festival which, since 2010, has been managed by the organisation Art Novi, under the auspices of the town of Novi Vinodolski, and co-organised by the Centre for Culture of the town of Novi Vinodolski and the Tourist Community of the Town of Novi Vinodolski. The aim of the Festival is to promote cultural and musical heritage, especially European ones. The fact that music is a universal language is evidenced by the multitude of tourists who visit this Festival. In the historic town, rich cultural and artistic heritage, as well as in the interior and acoustics of the ancient parish church of Novi, visitors enjoy the sounds of prominent musical names from the European and Croatian music scene every year. Admission is free.

Summer cinema
Summer cinema, apart from Mesopust customs, is the oldest event in our town. There were several locations where the films were shown, but since the summer of 2018 they have been shown in the yard of the birth house of Mažuranić brothers (Ulica Antuna Mažuranića 5). The films are shown from June to the end of September on a weekly basis (domestic production, blockbusters, European production, documentaries, and cartoons for children). Visitors can enjoy the specific ambience of this space in the town centre. The ticket price is 10 kuna. The organiser, the Centre for Culture of the town of Novi Vinodolski, shares information about films, as well as other events, on the town’s Facebook page, on the town’s website, as well as on its advertising spaces.

Novljanski gušti (Delicacies from Novi)
Farewell to summer with local specialties from restaurants from Novi and top-quality wine are a favourite event of many residents and visitors in Novi Vinodolski. In the morning of mid-September, on Ivan Mažuranić Square, in the city centre, with entertainment and music programme, you can taste top gastronomic delicacies and quality wines for a symbolic price. The event is dedicated to all tourism workers who have contributed to the successful tourist season and is also a great opportunity to promote the rich gastronomic offer of Novi Vinodolski.

Martinje (St. Martin)
November is marked by St. Martin’s Day – an old folk custom of turning must into young wine, which is nurtured by baptising wine in the north-western wine-growing regions and in neighbouring Slovenia, but also in Novi Vinodolski. Throughout the month of November, you can enjoy top wines, delicacies and music, and every year the town of Novi Vinodolski, the Tourist Community of the Town of Novi Vinodolski, the Association Ruža Vinodola, Wine House Pavlomir, Marina Novi with restaurant Admiral, Hotel Lišanj make sure of that.

Cod Days in Marina Novi
Cod Days are held in Marina Novi in Novi Vinodolski, from 6th to 24th December. December is the time for cod in Croatian culture, and in the Admiral restaurant you can enjoy carefully designed specialties, as many as 20 of them, which are accompanied by perfectly paired wines. Fans of traditional dishes will surely be delighted by bianco cod, cod ala Norwegian, cod croquettes, lasagne with cod and other unique specialties.

Zdravica Novoj (Toast to the New Year)
The Tourist Community of the Town of Novi Vinodolski, the Centre for Culture of the town of Novi Vinodolski and the town of Novi Vinodolski in cooperation with the Hunting Societies Košutnjak and Gradina, and the Association Prijatelji grožđa i vina Ružica Vinodola, every year organise the event Zdravica Novoj. On New Year’s Eve, December 31st, as early as 10:00 in the centre of Novi Vinodolski, entertainment and music programme begins accompanied by top gastronomic offer. In addition to the standard catering offer, you can find a suitable New Year’s package: hunting stew, souvenir cups and mulled wine in unlimited quantities at a price of 30.00 Kuna. Also, in parallel with the Toast to the New Year, in the centre of Novi Vinodolski, there is a special programme for the youngest, a free inflatable Children’s City, donuts and train rides. The programme lasts until 16:00 and you can find evening entertainment and the continuation of the New Year’s Eve in hotels and restaurants in Novi Vinodolski area.
