The use of renewable energy sources was also recognised by the town of Novi Vinodolski, which joined numerous cities and towns that set up smart benches in public areas. Through the project of arranging the beach on the Bribir coast, three smart benches have been set up on Obala Petra Krešimira IV.
Steora smart benches are the most advanced smart benches on the market, completely energy independent, and powered by solar panels. Mobile phones can be charged on them wired and wirelessly, and the town of Novi Vinodolski has provided users with a free connection to the Internet.
Apart from the town of Novi Vinodolski, the investment in innovation and the use of energy from renewable energy sources was also recognised by Mitan Marina, who set up a smart bench.
WIFI
The system of free wireless Internet access for users of laptops, tablets and smartphones in the area of the town of Novi Vinodolski was developed by the town of Novi Vinodolski in cooperation with the company Krk sistemi d.o.o.
The free Wi-Fi signal covers the city centre, the port of Novi Vinodolski and the main town beach.
As part of the WiFi4EU initiative, the area of free wireless Internet access has been extended to: The Square of the Statute of Vinodol (near the fountain), Novi Vinodolski Public Reading and Library, House of Culture (Small Hall, Great Hall and Lobby), Frankopanski Square, Street workout Park on Obala Petra Krešimira IV., Small Sports Playground, Lokvica, Prva Dražica Beach, Dr. Franjo Tuđman Promenade, Rivica Beach, all funded by a European Commission voucher.
