rimorje-Gorski Kotar County 3,588 km2, or 6.3% of Croatia’s territory,
borders with the Republic of and is divided into three parts:
PSlovenia in the north, with Istria • the mountain area
County in the west, with Karlovac County
and Lika-Senj County in the east, while • the coastal area
its sea border with Zadar County is the • islands
Kvarner gate, in the southeast.
Part of the territorial waters and the
country border, 22 km southwest of
Susak island, also pertains to the county.
Primorje-Gorski Kotar County as a tourist
destination is called “Kvarner”.
